Editorial. The term "copyleft" is sometimes used for open source materials. I assume the "left" comes from political leftist ideal of sharing wealth. The term "copyright" gives a legal monopoly to the producer to provide a motivation to produce. I strongly believe the intellectual property laws (eg, the current copyright laws) have been warped to serve the purposes of giant corporations who have abused this monopoly. The goal should be laws which balance benefit to the producers with benefit to society as a whole. Open-source doesn't solve these problems, but it does provide a nice alternative in some cases.

I would enjoy hearing about any use you make of this material. It also would be nice if you gave me credit when you use it, but that's not required.
